Boracay beach in the Philippines is such a beautiful beach, really one of the nicest I have ever visited. Thankfully the locals know that the value of their tourism industry relies on them keeping it clean. They also have an active and thriving recycling infrastructure. Alot of the work is done by young kids who scour the beach for plastic bottles, tins and anything else of recyclable value. They play a valuable role in keeping Boracay clean.

Seems whoever is running Boracay knows a thing or two about preserving its natural beauty for future generations.pleasekeepbeachclean2.jpg

Boracay is ideal for water sports. The beach has soft white sand and the water is crystal clear and you can walk out a good way before it gets deep, the famous white beach is protected by a reef about 500m offshore, the resulting lagoon is a great place to swim. Shops offering water sport activities such as diving, kayaking, snorkling, fishing, sailing and para sailing, thrive along the beach. Thankfully the jet skis and powerboats are not allowed in the shallow lagoon and are kept out away from the beach so the noise does not disturb sunbathers on the beach.
