Raining in Hong Kong - Hong Kong weather Adventures

Filed under: General — SDBlogger @ 10:04 pm

It has been raining now for over a week. No end in sight. I feel sorry for all the tourist who thought what a great time to visit Hong Kong ‘the city of lights’… Well the tourism authority should change that to ‘Hong Kong - City of Umbrellas’… So just a reminder if you are planning to come to Hong Kong in June, July or August, just know that it is our MONSOON season, which means that it may be raining and hot. Hot and raining. Day time temps around 30 with 98% humidity… Sauna city… Love it.

In all fairness it does not rain all the time, rain sweeps in dumps for some time then it sort of clears, then once in a while the sun pops out sometimes for hours at a time. Then it is beautiful, the sky clear and the buildings clean, great for photos. Then clouds scurry across the sky blocking out the sun and then the rain returns. Rain like you have ever seen driven cleansing rain. As well as powerful thunder and lighting storms, these usually at night, an awesome sight from the peak if your brave enough to go out.

A great thing to do if you are in for some wet adventure is to hike up the peak via Old Peak Road. You can watch the city getting drenched, while staying relatively dry due to the forest canopy above you.
Hong Kong is a lovely city lots to do, wet or dry…

Come to Hong Kong in October, November and December the weather is perfect then…
