As you may know my Mom is a great photog, it was her influence that got me started with this career that I love so much. Well last year Mom started submitting some of her photos from Mongolia to Alamy. She has some really great shots of Mongolian warriors on horse back. This one just sold under a book license.
Well done Mommy!!!
I was a happy SUNDAY subscriber for almost 10 years. Recently in March of this year PCCW aquired SUNDAY and ever since then their customer service has gone to the birds. It used to be that when I called customer service I was answered with a real live person, not anymore. Call PCCW mobile customer service, you will answered by a machine that asks you to jump through a series of hoops before you can talk to a live person. This takes a few minutes and is really annoying.
Well I showed them, I switched to SMARTONE/Vodofone…
“And I had done an hellish thing,
And it would work ‘em woe :
For all averred, I had killed the bird
That made the breeze to blow.
Ah wretch ! said they, the bird to slay,
That made the breeze to blow ! “
Just watching the BBC, Earth Report they are doing a piece on the sad plight of the Albatross and there is the good Prince Charles saying some poignant things.
TVE’s Earth Report: Race to save the Albatross
The good work being done by Birdlife International BirdLife International - conserving the world’s birds
Wonderful…
And a big up to Walmart and the MSC.
Next time to buy fish look for the MSC logo… Albatross friendly fish…
It has been raining now for over a week. No end in sight. I feel sorry for all the tourist who thought what a great time to visit Hong Kong ‘the city of lights’… Well the tourism authority should change that to ‘Hong Kong - City of Umbrellas’… So just a reminder if you are planning to come to Hong Kong in June, July or August, just know that it is our MONSOON season, which means that it may be raining and hot. Hot and raining. Day time temps around 30 with 98% humidity… Sauna city… Love it.
In all fairness it does not rain all the time, rain sweeps in dumps for some time then it sort of clears, then once in a while the sun pops out sometimes for hours at a time. Then it is beautiful, the sky clear and the buildings clean, great for photos. Then clouds scurry across the sky blocking out the sun and then the rain returns. Rain like you have ever seen driven cleansing rain. As well as powerful thunder and lighting storms, these usually at night, an awesome sight from the peak if your brave enough to go out.
A great thing to do if you are in for some wet adventure is to hike up the peak via Old Peak Road. You can watch the city getting drenched, while staying relatively dry due to the forest canopy above you.
Hong Kong is a lovely city lots to do, wet or dry…
Come to Hong Kong in October, November and December the weather is perfect then…
I recently bought a box of Kellogs Rasin Bran as the shop did not have my favorite Wheatabix… Now is it just me or does this stuff taste like saw dust…
Yesterday we bought a new lens the Canon 24-105 f4 IS USM L series lens. It was a very reasonable HK$7300 from our favorite camera supplier Mr. Pun at Photo Scientific on Stanley st. This is to replace our old 28-80 f4 L that decided that it had enough last year.

Well this is a wonderful lens, razor sharp and with Macro to boot. You can see the shallow depth of field in these here pictures of our lovely puppy Daisy. See her face in focus while the feet are soft…
